Pau D'Arco has been used in South America as an immune tonic, antimicrobial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory and astringent. Modern research has confirmed its anti-tumor activity. The herbís effects on Candida overgrowth are variable, with some reports of great success and other clinicians seeing little activity or benefit.
