Traditional Information*

Plantain is primarily used for its demulcent, healing qualities both internally and externally. A rich source of chlorophyll and allantoin, it speeds healing of skin and mucus membrane tissue especially in the stomach, bladder and vaginal tract. Plantain is useful for gastritis, gastric and duodenal ulcers, ulcerative colitis, and interstitial cystitis. It can be applied topically for toothache pain.
