Traditional Information*

Long used in Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine, this rhizome is considered especially effective for menstrual pain. It regulates the qi of the “Chinese liver”, making it useful for symptoms of stagnation such as cramping, gas, nausea and vomiting. It has been shown to increase the pain thres-hold and can be used in many protocols for gynecological, abdominal, or cardiac pain.
